HaggleBuddy is a mobile app that helps Nigerian shoppers check real, crowdsourced market prices before they buy — and then coaches them on how to negotiate using an AI Haggle Coach.

You can search for any market item (tomatoes, rice, fabric, electronics, etc.) in English, Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa, see what it currently costs at markets near you, and then get a personalised negotiation script to help you get a fair price.

Yes — HaggleBuddy is completely free to download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The free version gives you access to the full market price database and 5 AI Haggle Coach sessions per day.

HaggleBuddy Pro (₦1,500/month) gives you unlimited AI coaching, unlimited Practice Mode, price alerts, and advanced price history features.

No — just download the app and start checking prices right away. HaggleBuddy works with no sign-up: no name, email, or password required. Your reports, points, and Pro status are saved automatically on your device.

Prices on HaggleBuddy are crowdsourced from real shoppers who have recently visited the market. Each price report includes the market, date, and a verified user who submitted it. Reports are flagged and reviewed if they appear to be outliers.

We always display prices as averages and ranges — not exact quotes — because market prices naturally fluctuate by vendor, time of day, and season. Use our prices as a guide to understand the fair range before you negotiate.

Prices are updated continuously as community members submit new reports. Popular items in high-traffic markets like Mile 12 and Balogun are typically updated multiple times per day. Less common items may have prices from the past week.

Each listing shows when the most recent price report was submitted so you know how current the data is.

At launch, we cover 21 markets across six states:

Yes — and we strongly encourage it. Reporting prices helps the whole community and earns you trust badges in the app. To report a price, tap the "Report Price" button on any item page, enter the price you saw, the market you were at, and the date. All reports are reviewed to ensure quality.

The AI Haggle Coach is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. You tell it what you want to buy, which market you're at, and what the seller is asking. The coach then generates a personalised, conversational negotiation script you can use immediately.

For example: "I want to buy tomatoes at Mile 12. The seller is asking ₦6,000." The coach will check real prices, confirm whether that price is fair, and give you an opening offer, a counter-offer strategy, and walkaway advice — all in natural language.

Practice Mode lets you rehearse your haggling skills against an AI that pretends to be a Nigerian market seller. Tell the AI what you want to buy, and it will set an inflated price and push back on your offers — just like a real market situation. This helps you build confidence before you negotiate for real.

Each AI session uses real computing resources. The 5-session daily limit on the free plan allows us to keep HaggleBuddy free for everyone while covering operational costs. If you shop frequently and want unlimited coaching, HaggleBuddy Pro gives you unlimited access.

Your conversations with the AI Haggle Coach are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of your session. When you close the chat, the conversation is cleared. We do not use your coaching conversations to train AI models. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.

Open the app, tap the Profile tab, then tap "Upgrade to Pro". Payment is handled securely through the App Store or Google Play. Pro is available monthly (₦1,500) or yearly (₦12,000), and can be cancelled anytime from your App Store / Google Play subscription settings.

You can cancel your HaggleBuddy Pro subscription at any time. Your access will continue until the end of the current billing period.

• iOS: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → HaggleBuddy → Cancel Subscription
• Android: Open Google Play → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → HaggleBuddy → Cancel

Because HaggleBuddy has no login, your data is tied to your app install. You can request full deletion at any time — we'll permanently remove your reports, points, and identifiers within 30 days. This cannot be undone.

Alternatively, email us at support@hagglebuddy.com with the subject "Delete Account" and we will process it within 5 business days.

Because HaggleBuddy doesn't use logins, your points and history are tied to your current install, so reinstalling or switching devices resets them. Your Pro subscription is safe, though — tap "Restore Purchases" on the Pro screen to bring it back (it's linked to your App Store / Google Play account). Questions? Email support@hagglebuddy.com.

This is usually a connectivity issue. Try the following:

• Check your internet connection (WiFi or mobile data)
• Pull down to refresh on the home screen
• Close and reopen the app
• Ensure you have the latest version of HaggleBuddy installed

If the AI coach doesn't respond or shows an error:

• Check your internet connection — the AI requires an active connection
• Check whether you have used your 5 free sessions for the day (free plan only)
• Try closing the chat and starting a new one
• Restart the app if the issue persists

HaggleBuddy updates are distributed through the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Enable automatic updates in your device settings to always have the latest version, or visit the store page manually to check for updates.
